What skills and experience we're looking for

We welcome applications from experienced senior leaders or experienced outstanding middle leaders who demonstrate exemplary classroom practice and the ability to motivate, positively challenge and embed ambition in others. You must have experience of successfully leading a curriculum/pastoral area, including evidence of reviewing and effectively developing school policy and implementing change. Significant experience in EYFS and Phonics/KS1 is essential so that you can complement existing skills of an established SLT.

Many of our current senior leaders have achieved qualifications such as NPQSL, NPQH with coaching and support. This desirable post has arisen due our current AHT relocating out of London. We have extensive and attractive school grounds and easy transport links, being near to the A40 and having a staff car park. Furthermore, we offer all staff a cash health insurance scheme and a school lunch daily. Our AHTs also have exclusive use of a school laptop and school i-pad to be able to effectively work remotely.

The governors of this highly successful school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Headteacher.  The successful candidate will join an experienced, committed and innovative Leadership Team, who are relentless in achieving the best for pupils. You will be trusted in your role, as leader for a core subject (English for the remainder of the 23/24 academic year) and as AHT with responsibility for an age range in the school (EYFS and KS1 for the remainder of 23/24 academic year). Significant experience of leadership in FS and KS1 would be essential to apply for this role.  You will have a 50% teaching commitment (in Year 1 for the remainder of the 23/24 academic year) which allows for plenty of Senior Leadership time to contribute to school improvement initiatives and directly raise standards.
