Assistant Headteacher / SENCo job summary

Are you a passionate, visionary leader ready to make a lasting impact in a truly rewarding environment?

As part of Brunel, we are a proud, creative education community with a vision of no barriers only potential. We strive to significantly improve the life chances and outcomes for our children and young people (CYP), whether they are within our SEND provisions or mainstream schools.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Headteacher and SENCo to join our leadership team. As a member of the strategic leadership team, you will have professional responsibility for the SEND-specific practice across the school, ensuring every learner receives the support, challenge, and opportunities they need to thrive.

You will work closely with our Co-Headteachers and SLT to drive whole-school improvement, build strong relationships with families and external agencies, and nurture a culture of inclusion.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced SENCo or senior leader with a strong understanding with SEND, ideally within a special school environment
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and committed to achieving the very best for all pupils
  • Has excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Can lead staff development and inspire a shared vision across the school community
