Assistant Headteacher - SENDCO job summary

Join us in Providing a Great Education for Every Child

CSET is committed to equal opportunities and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and communities, as we recognise the importance and benefit this has for our pupils.

A child with special needs will inspire you to become a special kind of person.
We are recruiting for an Assistant Headteacher - SENDCO who can lead and shape an excellent forward thinking SEND provision.
This is a crucial whole-school role and is a fantastic opportunity for a talented, student-centred, ambitious professional to play a key role in a progressive educational setting.
We need a special kind of person who can enable our students to be empowered in having the complete school experience regardless of needs, so they are able to achieve personal academic success.

About the role
You will work with the School Leadership Team to build upon the existing SEND provision, thereby ensuring a long term stable service for our students. You will have responsibility for leading the SEND provision, playing a critical role in enabling the school to achieve and sustain high quality education for our most vulnerable students. You’ll work at both a strategic and operational level, from devising learning and behaviour strategies to managing legal responsibilities. You’ll build positive relationships with staff, governors, parents and external professionals in order to be able to effectively meet the needs of each student. The salary range for this role is L7-11. There will be around 15 hours of teaching every fortnight.

About you
You will be an inspirational and dynamic leader who has developed strong leadership skills and can demonstrate the ability to instil a purposeful and positive ethos. You will have a compelling personal presence, emotional intelligence and demonstrable commitment to your own CPD. You’ll be an exceptional communicator and able to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. A well organised, self starter who is confident in identifying and implementing change. You will need to have had significant experience of middle leadership and whole school responsibilities with a demonstrable track record of successfully raising standards of groups of students.

We can offer you:

Commitment to CPD and development of all staff including collaborative support and instructional coaching to allow teachers to thrive
A clear curriculum vision and focus on evidence-based practice
Commitment to inclusivity and fostering of diversity
Values and vision that are lived not laminated
Open and honest culture

Closing date - Monday 31st January 2022
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 15th February 2022

If you think this is the role for you, we would love to hear from you. Before applying it would be beneficial for you to speak with our Assistant Director of SEND. This can be arranged through our In House Recruitment team - please email cset-recruitment@cset.co.uk to arrange a time to talk.
Equally, if you’re an experienced SENDCO but you don’t feel like an Assistant Headteacher role is for you, we’d still love to hear from you and find out more about your experience.
