Assistant Headteacher/SENDCO Vacancy at Pilton Community College job summary
Pilton Community College is looking to appoint an exceptional individual to fulfil the role of Assistant Headteacher/SENDCO either for an October 2021 or January 2022 start.
As SENDCO you will need a strong commitment to raising educational attainment for children and young people with SEND, and have a willingness and ability to develop specialist knowledge, and keep up-to-date with local and national developments. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will provide leadership to the school and help to drive forward further improvements in the provision of SEND. This post will be integral to our work in developing teaching and learning, and in supporting successful transitions in and out of the school. You will join a positive and hardworking staff team who care passionately about improving the life chances of our young people.
This is an excellent opportunity for a current middle or senior leader with further leadership aspirations. You will be supported to develop autonomous leadership of your areas of responsibility, with access to further CPD, enabling you to grow your own skills and have potential for further promotion in the future. The skills of the successful candidate are important, but we place equal value on someone having the right motivation, resilience, empathy and aspirations to work with our students, and continue to drive forward standards in our school. If you have these qualities, we look forward to receiving your application.
This is a permanent position working 1.0 FTE, 39 weeks per year.
Interested candidates are able to discuss the role with the Headteacher, Mr Graham Hill, by arranging a telephone call or a visit (subject to current guidelines). To schedule an appointment please contact Mary Duffy, PA to the Headteacher (01271 349005).
