Do you want to be part of the Sharples’ success story?

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic leader to join an experienced and successful leadership team. Our motto is ‘Learn. Dream. Achieve.’; we have high expectations and a strong commitment to enabling every child, regardless of background, to go on to further or Higher Education or the career of their choice.

The governors are seeking to recruit an outstanding and motivated practitioner with a passion for raising standards who can, along with the Headteacher and SLT, provide strategic leadership for our ‘good’ and improving school.

Our Science Specialism drives whole school improvement and celebrates outstanding results year on year. Our Ofsted report in 2019 truly reflects our school achievements and ethos and I urge you to read it for an even fuller picture of what we have to offer. We are a vibrant learning community with a committed and aspirational staff and we endeavour to bring out the very best in each one of our young people. Ofsted noted that Sharples is “an inclusive, caring community where students achieve well.”

This post will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to build or extend their leadership profile, in a school that has shown continuous improvement and one which means to be an outstanding school in the near future.

We can offer you:-

● a school with an established reputation for success with supportive governors and parents;
● an extensive staff CPD programme;
● the full support of a talented and professional team of staff;
● a school that is totally committed to school improvement.

We require a professional who:-
● has a track record of success as a middle/senior leader;
● is an excellent and ambitious classroom teacher;
● has a proven and demonstrable track record of success at Key Stage 4;
● has a good understanding of current educational developments;
● is a strategic thinker with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and students;
● is an excellent communicator;
● has the energy, commitment and enthusiasm to help us to realise our vision to become outstanding;

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a highly effective Senior Leadership Team and take on a number of specific areas of responsibility within the school. The areas of responsibility will be decided based on the strengths and experience of the successful candidate.
