What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the retirement of a long serving assistant Headteacher, the Board of Directors are seeking to appoint a committed leader to support the headteacher and strengthen the leadership of our outstanding school as it prepares for the next phase of its development. The successful candidate should be able to articulate a vision for education, provide a record of successful leadership and demonstrate a clear understanding of collaboration within a multi-academy company (MAC).

We want our new Assistant Headteacher to:

  • Demonstrate an awareness of Catholic education.
  • Be an excellent practitioner, leading by example.
  • Experience of developing the curriculum, monitoring and assessment.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills: to work with parents and the wider community.
  • Present a vision for supporting and developing provision for disadvantaged pupils.

What the school offers its staff

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • Support in their spiritual development.
  • Consistent professional development and coaching.
  • Ongoing high quality professional development opportunities for leadership growth
  • Opportunities to engage with colleagues through a range of projects which will influence school practice and the wider educational landscape
  • A warm welcome from enthusiastic children who are well behaved with a positive attitude to learning.
  • Friendly and committed staff who are supportive, open to new ideas and keen to continue to develop professionally
  • High quality leadership CPD, including opportunities to work across the MAC and external.

  • Opportunities to develop leadership skills as part of a dynamic leadership team across the MAC.
  • Gain experience of effective partnership and practice within a successful primary collaboration

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career whilst making a contribution to the leadership and development of the school. Interested applicants are warmly welcomed and encouraged to visit the school, by prior arrangement.
