Assistant Headteacher, St Joseph's Catholic Infant School & St Edward's Catholic Junior School job summary

The successful candidate will work with senior leaders in all aspects of leadership and management and take responsibility for managing and developing teaching and learning, curriculum, assessment and enrichment across both schools. The Assistant Headteacher is required to play a leading role in all aspects of the development of the schools and to work at all times inspired by the gospels and guided by the Mission Statement to support the Catholic ethos of the school.

The Assistant Headteacher will take a central role as part of the Leadership Team, LAC and STCAT to develop our schools in accordance with our shared values and our school development plans.

The Assistant Headteacher is to be a primary teacher, preferably with experience across the primary age range; an experienced curriculum and team leader, a leader in assessment for learning and assessing pupils’ progress. The functions and specific responsibilities in the job description are to be undertaken in conjunction with the duties of an Assistant Headteacher as defined in the Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
