Assistant Headteacher job summary

We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher who:

• is committed to providing outstanding Catholic Education within our school community.
• is an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ achievement and

• recognises and believes in the unique individuality of each child.
• has the skills to act as a role model, capable of inspiring and motivating others.

• is friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills and a good sense of
humour.

The role includes the full time teaching responsibility of being an upper Key Stage 2 teacher. The successful candidate will begin in Year 5 and follow the cohort through to Year 6.

In addition to their teaching responsibility, the new Assistant Headteacher will lead English across the school, take on the role of health and safety co-ordinator and will be a member of the safeguarding team (one of three Deputy DSLs).

The vacancy is due to the retirement of one of our Assistant Headteachers. Being a Catholic school, our curriculum and ethos are based upon the key teachings of our faith, centred on the Gospel Values. The successful candidate must be willing to support and promote the Catholic ethos of the School. A candidate who is a practising Catholic is desirable but not essential.
