The Role
We are seeking an inspirational and highly effective Assistant Headteacher (leading on Teaching and Learning) to join our senior leadership team. This is a key strategic role focused on driving high-quality teaching, improving learning outcomes, and supporting staff to deliver excellence across the school.
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping teaching and learning, leading professional development, and embedding a culture of high expectations, reflection, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and embed outstanding teaching and learning across the school
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, providing clear feedback and support
- Design and deliver high-quality CPD aligned to school priorities
- Use data and research-informed practice to improve pupil progress and outcomes
- Support curriculum development and assessment for learning
- Line manage middle leaders and teachers and contribute to whole-school improvement planning
- Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and equality in all aspects of school life
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven impact on pupil outcomes
- Have leadership experience and the ability to inspire, motivate, and support staff
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of effective pedagogy and assessment
- Be committed to inclusive education and high expectations for all pupils
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Be ambitious for pupils, staff, and the wider school community
