The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher, an efficient organiser and an inspiring, empathetic leader.

The successful candidate will work closely with the headteacher and the wider staff team to embed and deliver our ambitious curriculum for all children, while monitoring its effective implementation and impact on pupils. You will play a significant role in improving the school and working as part of a dedicated team, as well as contributing to our school development plan.

They will be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, children and families. They will have high expectations of all children and work hard to ensure that barriers to success are overcome. They will be respectful, kind, determined and curious.

The successful candidate will also be a champion of research informed practice, driven by improving outcomes for pupils, and confident at improving the quality of teaching and learning through continued professional development, effective monitoring and delivering constructive and developmental feedback to others.

Purpose of the role

The role of the Assistant Headteacher (Teaching and Learning) is to lead and further develop teaching, learning and assessment across the school, and to oversee provision for students in receipt of pupil premium and other potentially vulnerable groups of learners including children with English as an additional language.

In this role you would also be supported by the Primary Teaching and Learning Lead and Advisor and have opportunities to attend regular trustwide teaching, learning and assessment group meetings where best practice is shared.
