Assistant Headteacher - Teaching & Learning and Quality Assurance job summary
Where pupils are “Well behaved, respectful and courteous. Parents value the sense of community which is palpable throughout the school” (Ofsted 2019)
Would you like to progress your career as a leader in a school with ambitious and polite students and the support of an experienced and friendly leadership team?
Royal Liberty School is a small comprehensive, 11-16 school for boys, located close to Gidea Park Station, only 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and the excellent behaviour of the students.
Our results have shown impressive improvement over the last 3 years with the majority of subjects consistently above national average;
● English 9-4 80%
● Maths 9-4 85%
● English and maths 9-4 76%
This improvement and success was recognised in the Havering Leadership Awards 2019 in which the school won 6 awards for most improved progress. This is as a result of hard work and dedication of all staff in the school. Due to our increased popularity we expanded by one form of entry from 2018. As part of the Priority Schools Building Programme and this expansion we will be undergoing a full refurbishment of the school in 2020/21.
As teaching & learning lead in the school you must be an outstanding practitioner and have successful experience of leading a subject team. Teaching and Learning is at least good in all areas of the school and we are looking for someone to lead on developing this further through effective monitoring of lessons, faculty review, high quality INSET and support for staff. You will also line manage a faculty area.
If you are an inspiring, inspirational, enthusiastic and innovative leader who recognises that the best leaders continually strive to improve, we would like to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward thinking school and leadership team. We require an individual who is passionate about teaching & learning and has the success and wellbeing of all students at the forefront of their practice.
If you would like to tour the school, please feel free to contact us.
