Kingsfield Primary School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to whole-school improvement, lead on the cultural ethos and curriculum, and take strategic responsibility for SEND provision across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Play a key role in school improvement planning and strategic development alongside the Headteacher and SLT.

Lead the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring high-quality inclusive practice across the school.

Manage and develop high standards of teaching, learning and curriculum design, working collaboratively to raise achievement.
-
Oversee and develop pastoral care, behaviour and safeguarding systems to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all pupils.

Take the lead on safeguarding and child protection, including policy oversight and compliance.

Contribute to staff development, performance management, and professional learning across the school.

Teach a class (as required by the school), modelling outstanding classroom practice and driving excellence in teaching and learning.

Liaise with external agencies, families, and professionals to support children’s progress and wellbeing.
What we are looking for:

A committed, experienced leader with proven success in a senior school leadership role.
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong teaching background and excellent classroom practice.
-
In-depth understanding and experience of SEND provision and the SEND Code of Practice (2015).

A track record of driving school improvement, particularly in teaching, learning, and curriculum development.
-
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Ability to inspire, challenge, and support colleagues and build strong working relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider community.

A reflective and solution-focused mindset with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
