What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher with an enthusiasm and commitment to raising standards and providing the very best provision for all our children. You will have a core desire to make a difference and to take a holistic and empathetic approach to life at Woodlands.

The successful candidate will take their place in our new leadership structure and undertake a significant role across the school. You will be responsible for the provision and outcomes for Vulnerable Groups which includes our children with English as an Additional Language (many of whom are new to the country), Looked after Children and those who are classed as disadvantaged. You will also lead the Upper School (Years 4 -6) and have responsibility for a class within these year groups.

Woodlands Primary is a 2 form entry school in Birkenhead that caters for children from a wide range of backgrounds. We have a skilled staff who are a supportive and happy team that focus on the needs of each child and work to foster respect, responsibility and resilience in all.

Shortlisting will take place week commencing 29/4/24 and successful candidates will be observed teaching week commencing 6/5/24. Interviews will be held on Friday 10th May 2024
