Assistant Headteacher x 2 job summary
The Governors are seeking to appoint two highly capable and inspirational Assistant Headteachers to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward-thinking professional with exceptional leadership skills to further drive improvement at our successful school. The successful candidate will have a proven track record at Middle or Senior leadership level, underpinned by a clear strategic vision for improving pupils’ life chances.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils
• Be able to think strategically, whilst having experience of driving through change at all levels
• Have excellent interpersonal leadership qualities, underpinned by a firm vision for school improvement
• Be forward thinking, visionary, receptive to change and be able to work effectively under pressure.
The successful postholders will be expected to take on the leadership of a distinct area of school improvement (to be confirmed following appointment), in addition to core SLT responsibilities.
We have an excellent track record of developing and supporting our staff to progress both professionally and in their career, including the opportunity to complete the NPQSL qualification. All our teachers have the opportunity to enrol on the Teachers Pensions Scheme. The school is situated in Chandlers Ford with easy access to the M3 and M27.

We are proud of our successful OFSTED inspections in 2015 and 2019, however, we are never complacent and know that there is always more we can do to improve Toynbee for pupils, staff and the wider community. Our academic curriculum is traditional and there is plenty of choice for all pupils’ talents to be recognised. We pride ourselves on finding flexibility for individuals' needs and whilst this is provided for across the schools' academic and extra-curricular activities, it is especially evident in our Visually Impaired Resource Centre that supports VI pupils across Hampshire and beyond.
When pupils join Toynbee they are put into one of four houses and it is through our House System that pupils are given the chance to earn rewards, achievement points and enter inter-house competitions, which both reinforce and celebrate the gifts and talents of our pupils.
Alongside the impressive exam results our pupils achieve, we want them to grasp every opportunity to learn a new skill, or participate in an event which stretches and enriches them. We believe that opportunities taken open doors and develop the whole person. None of this could be achieved without our excellent Guidance Support Team who enable our pupils to flourish and grow in confidence and ability during their time with us.
We currently have a Senior Leadership Team comprising of the Headteacher and two Deputy
