Assistant Home School Liaison Officer job summary

As our Assistant Home School Liaison Officer, you’ll work closely with families, students, and staff to break down barriers to learning. You’ll support attendance, wellbeing, and engagement—helping students feel seen, supported, and safe.
Whether it’s making a call home, meeting with a parent, checking in with a student, or working with external agencies—you’ll be a trusted, consistent presence that makes all the difference.
You’ll need to be someone who:
- Builds trust quickly and communicates with compassion
- Has experience working with young people or families (in education, care, youth work, etc.)
- Understands the importance of good attendance and wellbeing in student success
- Stays calm under pressure and handles sensitive situations with care
- Is organised, proactive, and great at following up
- Holds a full UK driving license and has access to a vehicle
