Are you an experienced leader with a strong commitment to inclusive education, high-impact interventions, and staff development?
Bexleyheath Academy, part of the LIFT Schools Trust, is seeking an exceptional Assistant Principal to lead on Inclusion, SEND, Reading, and EAL provision, student Intervention, and Staff Development across the academy. This is a vital leadership role for a strategic, compassionate, and driven individual committed to ensuring every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership for SEND, ensuring compliance and excellence in provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Champion inclusion embedding a culture where every student feels supported, and empowered.
* Oversee whole-school reading strategy, ensuring literacy is at the heart of our curriculum and intervention planning.
* Lead targeted and evidence-based student interventions for those at risk of underachievement, including those with complex needs.
* Lead provision for EAL learners, enabling rapid language acquisition and full access to the curriculum.
* Lead and develop whole-school staff development programmes that support inclusive teaching and literacy-focused pedagogy.
* Line manage key inclusion staff including the SENCo and Reading Leads, and work closely with external agencies and families.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be an experienced and ambitious middle or senior leader with a proven track record of improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
* Have deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, inclusive pedagogy, and literacy interventions.
* Demonstrate commitment to staff development, building capacity across the school and modelling high-quality practice.
* Be an inspirational communicator with a passion for collaboration, high standards, and a belief in every child's potential.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and a whole-school approach to inclusion.
