What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Show an excellent knowledge of alternative pathways and curriculum design with a clear commitment to Inclusion/SEMH to support the most vulnerable.
- Lead and ensure day to day management for the cohort of students who have been allocated a place within the school’s internal Alternative Provision centre (ELECT)
- Promote and ensure high levels of attendance, positive behaviours and engagement in learning for all students who attend either the internal Alternative Provision or are based in offsite provisions
- Ensure that all procedures and protocols regarding Safeguarding are effectively implemented and that all pupils are safe and feel safe
- To work closely with parents/carers and students to improve levels of behaviour and engagement in learning.
- An ability to form excellent relationships with students and their families, to promote engagement and overcome difficulties they previously experienced.
- Inspire and enthuse students and staff through a contribution to teaching and learning

Further details about the role
Required for Easter/June 2023, an enthusiastic and highly effective Senior Leader to provide strategic direction and development to the curricula experience and management of pastoral care provided for students for whom a mainstream pathway is not appropriate or possible. The successful candidate will undertake effective quality assurance of all aspects of provision, implementing strategic actions and CPD, to ensure students benefit from high standards of teaching and learning, personal development and pastoral support.
This is a crucial area in terms of supporting the school to ensure that vulnerable students benefit from a personalised and impactful learning experience, which not only benefits them academically but also develops their character, aspirations and their ability to lead healthy lives, as active contributors within society. The post is suitable for middle leaders, who are committed to developing young people and have a record of demonstrable impact in previous leadership roles.
