An exciting SENCO opportunity at Assistant Principal level for a high performing Primary Academy
Your new school
Anglesey Primary Academy is part of Lift Schools, a MAT of 57 schools, 10 in the Midlands, which allows you access to the best training programmes available as well as more internal opportunities. Anglesey is a large primary with over 600 pupils and is led by a dedicated and friendly Principal, Mrs Lynsey Hedley. Having been with the school for four years she has established a friendly and dedicated culture where teachers ensure they spark curiosity and capture imaginations of children whilst still providing the highest standard of education. The school sits within the local community and has two Good ofsted reports in all areas where it's been recognised that the school identifies pupils with SEND swiftly. Inclusion is at the heart of the school and pupils are supported to work alongside their peers effectively in the classroom through carefully devised adaptations and support. We currently have some enhanced provision for children where a greater therapeutic curriculum is in place.
Your new role
Due to retirement we are looking for an Assistant Principal to join our team as our SENCO lead, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, critical to establishing strong leadership across the school. You will establish a strategic overview and work collaboratively with stakeholders to coordinate the provision for pupils with SEND across the school. You will ensure SEND provision is fully integrated with both teaching and curriculum, and provide professional guidance to colleagues and work with staff, parents, and other agencies to ensure pupils with SEND receive effective support and high quality teaching.
The other main responsibilities are to keep records of all pupils with SEND fully maintained and up to date. Gather, collate, critically analyse, interpret and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data and use this to inform SEND practice and processes to ensure best outcomes for CYP with SEND. You will also be responsible for managing systems to implement and maintain the school's adherence to SEND statutory regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher who is either an experienced senior leader looking to consolidate your experience, or someone who is taking their first step into a senior post, with a passion for improving the life chances of students with SEND. You will have a drive, vision and relentless pursuit of excellence and be both organised and accountable for all SEND records.
