The Candidate

Due to the promotion of our current Assistant Principal, Granville Academy is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for either an experienced and highly effective Middle Leader or serving Assistant Principal to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Quality of Education across the academy.

As Assistant Principal - Quality of Education, you will be at the heart of our mission to deliver exceptional education. This is a key strategic leadership position as part of the Quality of Education Team led by our Vice Principal of Quality of Education.

As part of the Quality of Education Team and the Academy Leadership Team, you will:

  • Lead the strategic development of Teaching and Learning across the academy.

  • Deliver whole-school CPD to drive professional excellence and consistency.

  • Oversee the Professional Growth Model and instructional coaching cycles.

  • Coordinate coaching and mentoring, ensuring impactful staff development.

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of education, identifying and sharing best practice.

  • Lead on adaptive teaching and SEND pedagogy to promote inclusive, high-quality teaching.

  • Champion and implement the Granville Teaching and Learning Playbook across all subjects.

  • Collaborate with middle leaders to strengthen subject-specific pedagogy and curriculum design.

  • Support departments with assessment analysis, responsive teaching and curriculum sequencing.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through learning walks, student voice, and lesson visits.

  • Be committed to their own professional development

  • Play a leading and highly visible role in the day-to-day management of the academy ensuring both the academic and pastoral success of all students across all faculty areas.

  • Be accountable for specific areas of responsibility (as determined with the successful candidate)
