Assistant Principal (Hatchside Infants) job summary
This role is for our brand new Hatchside Infant School site at Castleton Road, Goodmayes, Essex, IG3 9RW
This is an exciting time to join the school on its expansion journey!
Hatchside School opened in April 2021 as a new special school, in response to the growing numbers of pupils requiring specialist placements. It’s curriculum and practice are founded on the principles of early intervention and assessment, particularly as pupils are currently aged 2-7 (EYFS/KS1). We admit pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties with a range of special educational needs including; Sensory impairments/Autistic spectrum disorders/associated behaviours/physical and medical needs. The school serves a multi ethnic population, which reflects the diversity of the borough and East London.
Hatchside will be expanding into an adapted building, within the site of a local highly inclusive primary school. Our new Assistant Principals should be forward-thinking, dynamic and creative individuals, with previous successful experience as an experienced SEND Teacher and/or school leader, who will be able to support this exciting new initiative and period of growth.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who;
- - Have a clear vision and ambition for 21st Century SEND education, supported by a sound understanding of what makes an excellent specialist school
- - Excellent knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the curriculum and what constitutes highly effective teaching, learning and assessment for pupils with complex learning difficulties and a wide range of disabilities, including social/communication needs
- - Understand, and empathise with, the lives of children and their families living with learning difficulties and disabilities
- - Can inspire and motivate others to be aspirational for all pupils
- - Are approachable listeners, with excellent interpersonal and ‘people management’ skills
- - Value partnership working and collaboration (both within and outside of the trust)
