What the school offers its staff
We are committed to providing our academy leaders with the highest quality support and challenge to ensure that their schools excel and give our students the education they deserve.
Each of the Creative Education Trust’s schools benefits from a comprehensive programme of support and challenge, including working with former HMIs.
Creative Education Trust places a strong emphasis on CPD for teachers and for senior and middle leaders. We run a regular programme of training events to improve teaching performance and also provide focused management development and one- to-one coaching opportunities. We have an active cross-trust group on the Teaching Leaders programme and use Future Leaders and Teach First extensively.
We believe it is very important that each of our academies plans in such a way that financial and human resources are deployed to support their educational strategies fully. This is supported by our experienced Head Office team, who are available to advise on financial planning, audit, HR, legal and property matters either directly or by referral to our professional advisors.
There are also a number of cross-group, phase leader and year-specific forums.
Commitment to safeguarding
We have a strong Safeguarding team at the academy and a strong culture for Safeguarding in the school. Safeguarding is fully compliant, and the wellbeing of students is a real strength of the academy. The school has been awarded Northamptonshire School of the Year for a second time in 2021 for the exceptional care and guidance provided to the students during the last year. We invest in students’ cultural capital through a very strong personal and community enrichment programme. We have strong links to our community and work closely with local partners and providers to maximise opportunities for all students.

Steeped in History, Wrenn school has been providing high quality education to the young people and families of Wellingborough for over 100 Years.
Our Upper School’s origins at London Road lie in Wellingborough County High School for Girls which was established in 1907. Our Lower School site at Doddington Road which was established in 1930, was once the Wellingborough Grammar School for boys. In 1975, under the then headmaster, Mr Harry Wrenn, the two schools merged to form Wrenn School and in 2025 we look forward to celebrating 50 years as Wrenn School.
Wrenn School is a split site school, the lower and upper school site, KS3 (Aged 11-14) are entirely based on our Doddington Road site with KS4 & 5 (14-19) predominantly based at London Road. The Educational environment is full of historical character and the school has retained many of its original features. The school has beautiful grounds, excellent Art, Music, Drama and Design Technology purpose-built facilities. The Wrenn Astro, playing fields, hard play areas and Gyms providing excellent facilities for the multitude of sports which are played across the school.
