Assistant Principal KS4 job summary

Assistant Principal KS4

We would like to invite you to join our Forge family.

This is an exciting time to be part of the future success of Ormiston Forge Academy. We are a large, oversubscribed 11-18 mainstream school with more than 1,600 students. We are proud to serve our local community and to shape and enhance the futures of our young people. We are equally proud to be part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a family of schools who are all committed to making the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom. Judged to be a ‘good’ school twice by OFSTED and with consistently good examination results, we are the first choice for parents across the area.

We have the highest ambitions and aspirations for every young person in our community. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do and we are relentless in our work to improve life chances for all. Our Academy values - Resilience, Aspiration, Respect - underpin our collective approach to raise standards and we are all committed to living out these values all day, every day here at Forge.

At Forge, we are dedicated to offering our students a world class curriculum that permeates through the Academy. We have a three-year key stage 3 which ensures our students can study as many subjects for as long as possible. We are unwavering in our commitment to breadth and depth of curriculum and build on this at key stages 4 and 5.

All students and staff here at Forge expect the best of, and for, themselves. Creative and effective teaching pedagogy is integral to driving standards and ensuring aspirations are high for all. Staff are valued and professional development is key to ensuring ongoing and sustainable improvement. Staff at Forge have excellent relationships with students and we pride ourselves on being a caring and supportive community where our young people are encouraged to flourish and be successful.

Following the successful promotion of the current key stage 4 Assistant Principal, we are now seeking to appoint an individual who shares our values and commitment to ensuring the very highest standards at key stage 4. You will be a dynamic, inspirational and ambitious leader with the determination and innovative drive to raise standards and ensure all students secure the best possible outcomes to enable them to progress further. You will have a forensic eye for detail and will be able to monitor and track student progress over time. You will be able to use internal and external data proficiently; allowing for the potential of all students to be realised and ensuring that no student is left behind.

The Assistant Principal we are looking for must:

  • be an inspirational, creative and outstanding leader who is able to motivate young people and staff.

  • be a hardworking, imaginative thinker and have excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • be able to expertly monitor and intervene in order to improve student progress over time.

  • be able to lead and work effectively as part of a team.

  • be able to go the ‘extra mile’ to make a difference to raise aspirations and transform the lives of our students.

We can offer you:

  • Outstanding CPD provision internally and across the Ormiston Academy Trust (OAT) network

  • Dedicated and enthusiastic students who want to learn and succeed

  • A passionate, creative, friendly and supportive staff team

  • A talented and dedicated leadership team who are unrelenting in their commitment to improve outcomes and life chances for all.

We feel this is a unique opportunity. If you share our passion, drive and determination to improve the life chances of our students and wish to play an integral part in leading our high achieving school then we look forward to receiving your application.

If you would like to make an informal visit to the school before making an application, please email hr@oatforge.co.uk and we will arrange a suitable time.

For an informal discussion please contact Dr Lisa Mason, Principal, on 01384 566598 or email: lisa.mason@oatforge.co.uk or visit our website to find out more about our academy: www.ormistonforgeacademy.co.uk
