The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal to lead our highly successful Maths department. The successful candidate will be required to lead the Maths department, and further responsibilities will be discussed if appropriate subject to the successful candidates’ experience and skills. The successful candidate will be a highly ambitious leader and will want the Maths department to become the most successful Maths department in London by August 2030 and for all students at GCSE to achieve at least a strong pass (grade 5).

Maths is taught across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 and is one of the highest performing subjects at the Academy. With experience in your subject specialist area, an excellent teaching background and strong leadership skills you are ready to take on a role that will have a major impact on learning. You should be able to be innovative in enabling students to develop higher level thinking skills and promote genuine interest in Maths. You should be able to work as part of a team which has as its core aims the continued raising of students’ achievement across the department. A strong commitment to student learning is essential. You will have responsibility for driving improvements in curriculum, teaching and learning and attainment within the Maths department.
