Assistant Principal job summary

Due to our growing school community and commitment to providing the right setting for SEND pupils across Rotherham, We are looking for a passionate Assistant Principal to join our team!

The following skills are desirable :

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong understanding of the various types of SEND, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, MLD, Speech, language and communication.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent Leadership skills, to work in close partnership with the Principal, school staff and the Trust staff to develop and manage the school effectively.
  • Ability to create and implement tailored educational plans (IEPs or EHCPs) to support students’ progress.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teaching assistants, therapists, and external specialists.
  • A passion for inclusive education and ensuring every child has access to a high-quality learning experience.
