Join Our Team as an Assistant Principal - SENCo at Hatfield Academy!
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Principal - SENCo to join our team. This role will be split between 0.6 Assistant Principal – SENCo and 0.4 Teaching, which is class based within Key Stage 2. The SENCo will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy across Hatfield Academy. This role carries strategic responsibility for evaluating and enhancing SEND provision within the academy, ensuring every pupil is encouraged, supported, and challenged to achieve outstanding progress.
About the Role:
As an Assistant Principal - SENCo, you will work under the guidance and instruction of the senior leadership team to enable access to learning for all pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing effective coordination and leadership of the Academy’s SEND provision.
- Working with the Senior Leadership Team and the Trust to ensure academies are compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act (2010).
- Managing the day-to-day operation of SEND policy and coordinating specific provisions for individual pupils with SEND, including those with EHC plans.
- Advising on the deployment of the academy’s delegated budget and other resources to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Ensuring that an accurate SEND register is kept up to date through effective identification and monitoring of pupil progress and development.
- Preparing the annual SEND information report and key reports for the governing body.
