Assistant Principal: Teacher Learning and Development job summary
1. To play a key leadership role in developing Rainford High as a centre of excellence based on the school ethos for ethical leadership and being a great place to work and an excellent place to be educated.
2. Take a high profile role around the school to support the staff in creating outstanding behaviour for learning across the whole school.
3. To lead the development of teacher learning to improve professional classroom practice based on effective use of evidence based research. By leading the teaching and learning development team in planning and delivering professional learning to staff with a focus on career stage professional learning and development from ITT to UPS and Leadership.
4. To lead the development of a school to school model of teacher learning and development for cross trust impact.
5. To lead the development and implementation of the school to school collaboration model for maximum impact in partner schools.
6. To work with AP QA Curriculum Design, Delivery and Development monitor and evaluate the impact teacher learning on classroom practice and student outcomes and identify effective strategies to tackle inconsistencies and gaps in professional knowledge and skills.
7. To develop a nationally recognised school direct programme focused on developing high quality professionals in shortage subjects.
8. To lead and line manage the ITT/ school direct programme, the Rainford Academies NQT and RQT programmes.
9. To support curriculum areas to design and deliver effective subject specific teacher learning to ensure knowledgeable and skilled professionals.
10. To line manage appropriate areas of the curriculum dependent on subject specialism and experience.
11. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in order to support the continuing development of the academy on its journey to excellence.
