What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed SEND practitioner keen to develop their career at Broadway Academy. This role would suit someone with strong SEN knowledge and commitment seeking a new challenge. Broadway Academy is a high performing academy in north Birmingham.
The Department
The SEND and Inclusion department are a forward-thinking team who are focused on providing a holistic educational experience for all students. We work closely with families and external agencies ensuring that all students, particularly those with additional needs, are involved in all aspects of Academy life. This is achieved through the demonstration of the Academy values through person centred practices and ensuring provision meets the needs of students. We are focused on training and accepting of new initiatives and research to advance the support and expertise that we provide for our students.
The post holder
You will have the experience and skills to:
- support the SENCO in the day to day running of a vibrant and expanding SEND department.
- support the SENCO in leading SEND provision, implementing an inclusive curriculum and achieving pupil progress
- work effectively with SEND students across key stages 34 and 5.
- be a keyworker lead for year 7 transition
- manage and develop curriculum resources to ensure SEND students have the right support
- provide support, challenge, training and development to colleagues on SEN and learning support
