What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a full-time, on-site (located in Greater Southampton area and New Forest) role for an Assistant SENCO and Family Support Practitioner at The Learning Federation. The Assistant SENCO and Family Support Practitioner will be a hard-working, well organised person looking to progress their personal development, which could include certification for the right person. Working within The Partnership SEN Team, you will be developing your SEN and family support skills, working with our families, children and supporting other colleagues across the Partnership. Responsibilities include working with the lead SENCO and senior leaders, family support work, delivering courses for families, compiling reports, liaising with multi-agency groups, communicating with parents and teachers, attending Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, developing skills within legal EHCP frameworks and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This is a new and flexible role.

What the school offers its staff
We are a Partnership of 6 schools aspiring to change the world for children aged from 3 months to 11 years. We are looking for an Assistant SENCO and Family Support Practitioner to join our SEN Team. You may be a SEN case officer, EYFS practitioner, Social Worker, L3 childcare qualified, or have some other relevant experience of children with additional needs. You would be welcome to apply as long as you have a determination and drive to work with us in an amazing family team to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Full training given, a thirst for knowledge and a determination to make a difference!
Hours –20 or 30hrs a week, 5 days a week. Option of term time only, or 52 week contract.

Qualifications / skills
- English and Maths skills to National Standard, or willingness to take a qualification
- Positive person who can complete a task thoroughly
- Curious learner - interested in special education policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- A strong work ethic with excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to think creatively and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
- Understanding that children sit at the centre and are the most important part of our work
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Commitment, intellect and resilience to undertake further learning and development
