We are seeking a passionate, adaptable and highly organised Assistant SENDCo. The Assistant SENDCo is a specialist coordination role. The successful candidate will be the operational engine that allows our strategic SENDCo to lead from the front, ensuring our children with additional needs receive the ambitious and well-coordinated support they deserve.  You will be the bridge between our families, our staff, and external agencies. By managing the complex statutory requirements of SEND, you ensure that our teachers have the information they need to be successful and that our parents feel heard and supported. The role also includes supporting the SENDCo in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children, including preparing PEPs and liaising with the Virtual School.

We are seeking someone with experience of working with children with SEND who communicates clearly, builds strong relationships with families and is able to manage multiple deadlines with confidence. You will be someone who can support teachers with strategies and pupil information, understands the needs of children with care experience, and coordinate EHCP reviews and SEND documentation effectively. A solution‑focused mindset, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to inclusion are essential. If you are passionate about inclusion and want to play a key role in supporting pupils with SEND and care experience, we would be delighted to receive your application.

The post holder should have good literacy and numeracy skills, the ability to relate well with children and adults, work on their own initiative and possess sound ICT skills. Experience of working with young people aged five to eleven is an advantage, however full training will be provided.

Our schools and settings are all part of Aylsham Learning Federation which supports the learning of children from nursery through to year 11. All schools are members of The Aylsham Cluster Trust, which along with other cluster schools, is focused on raising standards and improving the quality of life for our children and their families. All of our colleagues can benefit from discounted membership to our leisure facilities available through Aylsham Sports Hub along with reduced fees for our nursery located in Aylsham. We also operate an EV salary sacrifice scheme. Our schools have excellent staff, great facilities and a wonderful group of students. The support that we enjoy from families and the wider community is fantastic.

If you would like to join a successful and genuinely warm and friendly Federation with a tremendous community attitude, then we would love to hear from you.
