Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Assistant job summary
To work as a member of the school’s SEND Team including the following responsibilities
- Establishing a supportive working relationship with students
- Encouraging acceptance and integration of the student with additional needs
- Developing methods of promoting and reinforcing students’ self-esteem
- Assisting the Lead SENDCO (and other professionals as appropriate) in the development of a suitable plan of support
- Providing regular feedback about students to the teachers concerned and Lead SENDCO
- Contributing to reviews of student progress
- Attending relevant training

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic SEND Team to support subject Departments. This would be an ideal opportunity to gain experience of working with students if you are interested in pursuing a career in education. The successful candidate will be someone who can work calmly and professionally with students to support them with their learning needs, and is confident working in a classroom setting. Some experience of working with young people of secondary school age is essential.
