Assistant Teacher officer job summary

Key tasks will include supporting students and other staff during their time in the SEND Resource Provision, supporting the delivery of lessons or intervention to address the learning, behaviour, social and emotional needs and responding to situations as they arise on a day to day basis.

Job Description:

Support the vision, ethos and policies of the Academy which secure effective teaching, successful learning and promote high levels of achievement and self-esteem for all students irrespective of background, ethnicity, gender or disability.

To actively engage in the curriculum delivery including the delivery of enrichment activities.

To deliver small group or 1 to 1 lessons focusing primarily on English, Mathematics and Science.

To ensure a safe, calm and purposeful learning environment at all times.

To support students in displaying the South Axholme Mindset.

To support students in regulating their emotions and choices when in lessons or in dialogue with other students and adults.

Provide support for students with significant wellbeing needs (EG - Trauma, Mental Health, Medical, and Attachment Issues)

To provide support to students to help them re-engage and be ready for education
To provide a safe and inspiring environment in which students can develop into respectful adults
To ensure all our students have access to the same opportunities as students in mainstream schools through an inspiring, broad and balanced curriculum.
