Assistant Vice Principal job summary

We are seeking to appoint two committed, dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Vice Principals who can ensure that Wade Deacon continues to be a high performing school providing an exceptional education for all of our students.

The successful candidates will be outstanding teachers with a proven track record of high-quality leadership and the ability to secure excellent outcomes. We pride ourselves on our commitment to ensuring student progress and high-quality teaching and learning provision for all; the successful applicants will share these values and play an active part in delivering on this commitment. Applications are invited from motivated and inspirational leaders who are eager to develop their leadership and contribute towards moving our school forward.

Key areas of responsibilities will be aligned to the strengths of the successful candidates. The successful applicants will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students. You will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. As a Teaching School leading a successful cross-phase and cross-regional alliance, Wade Deacon can offer the successful candidate numerous exciting opportunities to further develop their leadership.

Wade Deacon is a 1600-place, oversubscribed 11-16 High School with excellent academic standards significantly above the national average. Our last OFSTED described us as “an outstanding school" in every category. We have developed exceptional International links with top schools in Japan, China and India.

In 2014 we were shortlisted for both 'Employer of the Year' in the Investors in People Awards, and ‘Excellence in Learning and Development’ in the Personnel Today Awards, in recognition of our commitment to growth and excellence through supporting, recognising and encouraging our staff. We have a state-of-the-art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff alike.

Ideally, we would like to offer tours of the school on Monday 30th March 2020 at 3.00pm. Prospective candidates who wish to visit should contact Catherine Rogers on 0151 423 2721 by Friday 27th March to register their interest in attending. Please note that a pre-application visit is optional and will not be taken into consideration when shortlisting applications.
