What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that enables all students to make excellent progress

Develop and implement a strategic vision for Science and STEM, aligning with the school's priorities and the needs of our diverse community

Further raise the profile of Science and STEM across the school, fostering a love of learning and promoting the importance of these subjects

Provide effective line management and support to the Science team, driving continuous improvement and professional development

Collaborate with colleagues to further embed a consistent, whole-school approach to literacy and numeracy, particularly in the context of Science and STEM

Contribute to the school's leadership team, participating in strategic decision-making and contributing to the overall development of the school

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Significant experience teaching Science, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding results at all key stages.

Demonstrable leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues

Excellent subject knowledge and a deep understanding of current developments in Science and STEM education

Commitment to promoting the school's Christian ethos and pastoral care

Desirable Qualities:

Experience in leading STEM initiatives and developing cross-curricular links

Ability to teach across the full age and ability range, including A-Level and BTEC

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents

Passion for continuous professional development and a commitment to your own growth as an educator
