Associate Assistant Headteacher/Head of STEM job summary
This is a Senior Leadership Team post to lead the Technology Department and also undertake whole-school operational and strategic responsibilities, principally related to the STEM agenda. This role represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious middle leader to progress into a senior leadership role and has become vacant due to the School’s renewed focus on Technology provision. The School is currently investing £400,000 to resurrect and reinvigorate our technology provision, including the total renovation of the School’s Technology Block which will be transformed into the new Innovation and Design Centre ready for September 2021. As part of this investment, the School’s PTA are contributing over £30,000 towards the provision of Denford F1 equipment and the Rickmansworth School Foundation is purchasing additional machinery. The successful candidate will be able to have a significant input into the renovation project and have the opportunity to develop the School’s future STEM provision.
The successful candidate will:
Take the lead on a small number of whole school areas of responsibility, including the line management of a small number of departments
Lead the Technology department by providing a professional, positive, pro-active and creative approach

Support the Senior Leadership Team in implementing whole school practice, policy and vision
Model excellent learning and teaching
Lead curriculum change across the School by successfully working with and across key STEM subject areas
