What skills and experience we're looking for
Must have the ability to teach Science or Computer Science
We are seeking to appoint to the Senior Leadership Team, a current Middle Leader who is ready to make the move in to senior leadership. You should have a track record of success as a middle leader and be ready to transfer these skills and attributes to a senior leadership role.
The Associate Assistant Headteacher will:
- Undertake the normal responsibilities of a classroom teacher.
- Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team assisting the Headteacher in managing the school.
- Undertake duties delegated by the Headteacher.
- Play a major role in formulating and reviewing the Development Plan and aims and objectives of the school by:
o Establishing the policies through which they shall be achieved;
o Managing staff and resources;
o Monitoring progress towards their achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
There are no specific responsibilities linked to this role. Areas of responsibility will be discussed with prospective candidates at interview, based on their application, interests and experience, and with the successful candidate post interview before they start the role.

Location and History
John Hanson Community School is a thriving, mixed gender 11-16 community school in South West Andover, Hampshire, with almost 1000 students. The school has a rich history, dating back to 1582, and was previously known as Andover Free School and Andover Grammar School. In 1974 the school was renamed John Hanson School in honour of its founder, and moved to the current site on Floral Way in 2001.
