This post would ideally suit an ambitious teacher or subject leader who is looking to take the step into whole school leadership. This is a role on our extended leadership team and will enable the successful candidate to gain whole school leadership experience. The specifics of the role will be discussed at interview but will predominantly focussed on how and what we report to parents and carers, the quality of assessments and internal examinations and the use of assessment to inform learning at Key Stage 3.

Qualified to degree level or above.

Experience
Experience of having worked successfully in more than one school with experience implementing assessment at at least the subject area level.

Job Description
To lead on the academy assessment policy.
Be responsible for all aspects of the academy assessment strategy.
Organise and implement sustainable structures and routines which take consideration for staff wellbeing.
To lead and develop sustainable relationships across the academy.
Develop staff in the skills required to effectively interpret progress and achievement data.
To proactively manage the effective reporting of information to parents and carers.
To co-ordinate with Senior Leaders and Faculty Leaders to ensure that assessment and reporting deadlines are met.
To be outward looking including visiting other schools for fact finding examples of excellent practice.
To be open to attending research conferences and other educational network events.
To support and contribute to the process of planning, implementing, evaluating and reviewing whole academy improvement.
Alongside the Principal, ensure the safeguarding of all pupils, and that the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff is promoted and maintained at all times.
To share responsibility for the management of the academy and to contribute to the consultative and decision-making processes including the formulation of aims and objectives.
To fully support whole school policy decisions, contribute to their establishment and initiation and sustain their implementation and review.
To actively promote the academy and liaise with outside agencies as necessary, representing the Principal and the academy as appropriate.
To contribute to discussions and decisions at Senior Leadership Team meetings.
To line manage other school leaders and support staff.
To communicate and consult with staff, students, parents and members of the local community as necessary.
To manage staff and resources, ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to.
To model outstanding practice in terms of classroom teaching, preparation, marking and assessment.
To engage with the team of Lead Practitioners to deliver both whole school and subject specific staff professional development.
To engage with Faculty Leaders to raise the standards of Teaching and Learning across subjects and reduce variations in standards.
To utilise the Education Endowment Foundation's approach to strategy implementation, in order to ensure efficacy of delivery.
To undertake any other responsibilities as directed by the Principal.
