Trustees are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Attendance Manager to join our Pastoral team.
At Horsforth School we believe in ‘opportunity and achievement for all’ and are committed to the highest outcomes for students and aim to develop the best opportunities for staff.
Attendance is an essential aspect of a successful community and academic success. Currently we are one of the top schools for attendance in Leeds finishing this year (up to half term 5) on 93.40%, we are significantly above the national average. The successful candidate will assist in the promotion of outstanding attendance by working in partnership with all stakeholders and the wider community. If attendance is outstanding then students have improved life chances and will make more rapid progress academically and socially. The Attendance Manager will work directly with all stakeholders in a non-judgemental way, encouraging, challenging and supporting improvements in attendance at an individual, cohort and whole school level.
You will also be working with the Deputy Headteacher, Pastoral and SEND teams and will be the operational lead and manager for attendance and punctuality at Horsforth School. We are looking for someone who is a good communicator, hardworking and flexible. You will be tenacious, creative and resourceful. Experience of working in an educational setting would be an advantage but is not essential. If you really want to make a difference to the lives of young people, then Horsforth School could be the school for you.
The Pastorals team’s success is reflected throughout this ambitious and consistently oversubscribed 11-19 school, which enjoys strong community and international links. Our commitment to excellence in education is recognised nationally. Ofsted describe us as a ‘good school with outstanding features’.
For our 1400 students, Horsforth School provides an engaging environment of discovery and growth. For our colleagues too, this setting offers some great benefits. Located in north-west Leeds, the school is just five miles from the city centre with its thriving retail, leisure and cultural facilities, yet on the edge of open countryside. York, Harrogate and the Dales are within easy reach.
