We are seeking to recruit a dedicated colleague to the role of Attendance Officer, to join our team here at Merchants' Academy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people both within the school and those who are absent from school.
  • To work collaboratively and support other areas of the school, including the pastoral team and allocated year teams.
  • Implement, support and action the Academies graduated response to absence.
  • Liaising between home and school, providing a direct line of communication and link with the school.
  • To work in conjunction with the Attendance Manager in the provision of effective and efficient administrative support services.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educated to a high standard with equivalent of GCSE Grade C in English and Maths
  • Ability to communicate and relate to staff, students and parents alike.
  • Experience of working with outside agencies.
