Stuart Bathurst are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Attendance Officer, who will enjoy being part of a collaborative team including Heads of Years and the Student Support team that work with integrity together.

You will work with the school’s attendance policy and procedures to ensure a co-ordinated approach to pupil absence/attendance. You will monitor pupils’ attendance on a daily, weekly, half termly, termly and yearly basis.

Working within the Early Help framework you will develop attendance action plans with children and families and utilise the legal framework to ensure parents and carers are held to account if improvements are not made in a timely manner.

You will also provide further support to the administration function of the school, undertaking a variety of tasks in support of the education and welfare of our students

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a great communicator who is passionate about building positive relationships between the school, our children and their families

  • Work holistically to address the root cause of non-attendance at school, ensuring that children and families are supported before needs escalate

  • Be a team player who is highly motivated and organised, with the ability to multitask

  • Be an effective problem solver who will come up with positive and robust solutions to problems

  • Be highly proficient in your ICT skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail

  • Be able to work flexibly to accommodate the requirements of the post
