Attendance Officer job summary

Greig City Academy is seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to join our team tackling attendance matters throughout the school. The work includes communicating with students, parents and carers about absences and attendance issues on a daily basis.

You will be joining an established team, dedicated to meeting the needs of individual students who might otherwise fail to engage with education; for example, students who are persistently absent. As a result of tailored and collaborative interventions, we know such students can thrive. You would play a key role in raising attendance, helping these students to become intrinsically motivated to succeed and adopt a positive stance towards their education.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets; be able to analyse patterns of attendance across the school and use data to support the pastoral team. This is a full time position on a 40 week contract.

An immediate start date is available for this vacancy. We understand that applicants may have current work commitments and in such cases a mutually convenient start date will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

GCA has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and has safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. It is committed to the principle of equal opportunities; we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.

Commitment to safeguarding

Greig City Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we have safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and additional pre-employment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance.

In line with KCSIE updates, an online search will be conducted as part of our due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates.
