Attendance Officer job summary

Hareclive E-ACT Academy - Attendance Officer (Permanent)

We currently have a vacancy for an Attendance Officer to commence employment in September 2022 ready for the new academic year. The contract on offer is permanent and part time (17.5 hours per week, 3.5 hours per day) and the actual salary for the post is £7,592.10 (Full Time Equivalent £18,333).

The purpose of the job is to assist the Home School Worker in overseeing the schools attendance procedures, ensuring that official registers are accurately maintained and attendance trends monitored. You will help towards improving levels of attendance, reducing absences and reflect the policies and values of E-ACT. Your key responsibilities will be to contribute in ensuring excellent attendance for every child at Hareclive E-ACT Academy (98% or above), working with families to improve attendance and working across the academy to raise awareness of non-attendance.

A brief snapshot of your main activities are as follows:

To answer and record first day phone calls, and check the voicemail inbox for absence related messages.
Input absence data into the academy SIMs database
To follow up on any missing registration marks
To follow up on any missing reasons for absence
Answer all telephone calls relating to absence
To assist the Home School Worker with home visits
Attendance data analysis for Home School Worker
Uploading attendance evidence to core computer systems.
To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, pastoral issues, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.
Reporting all concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

You will need to have excellent communicative skills and have the ability to hold challenging conversations. You will also need to have a keen eye for data analysis and strong time management skills.
