What skills and experience we're looking for
team as an Attendance Officer. Working under the Vice Principal for Personal Development, Behaviours and Attitudes, you will be expected to provide a support service to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our learners. Based in our Attendance office, you will provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet our attendance targets.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting learners in a school environment and knowledge of school attendance legislation. You will be able and willing to take responsibility for establishing the reason for non-attendance, making assessments and agreeing plans for facilitating return to school using appropriate strategies within specified timescales. You will also be able to initiate appropriate legal action with Education Welfare Service (EWS) to ensure the school is carrying out its statutory responsibility in respect of learners, as well as creating reports and submitting data to the DFE and appropriate bodies, to ensure the school is fully compliant at all times
