Attendance Officer Orchard Meadow Primary School, Oxford

Job description

The successful candidate will lead on the attendance and punctuality system across two schools within the Oxford cluster, strategically working alongside the student support and inclusion faculty to achieve a good and strive for outstanding attendance and punctuality

Essential educational requirements

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline (Working in attendance, education or other family intervention/support work )
• Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
• Evidence of up to date training in Safeguarding and other qualifications/training in education or relevant discipline

Essential skills and experience

• Good ICT skills
• Use of specialist equipment/resources e.g. SIMS educational systems
• Full working knowledge of relevant polices/codes of practice/legislation. Legal frameworks around attendance and education
• Ability to organise, lead and motivate other staff
• Ability to plan and develop systems such as new systems and procedures for managing attendance
• Ability to relate well to children and adults
• Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
• Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
• Ability to work quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of schools and issues relating to education
