Attendance Pastoral Support Officer job summary

Byron Wood Primary Academy are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Attendance Pastoral Support Officer to join our thriving team. This is a new role within our team, and is a vital link to ensure that student attend in order to succeed. No two days are the same in this fast paced role.

This is an ideal position for someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude and understands the importance of providing a safe learning environment. The successful candidate will need to be able to show an unrelenting focus on doing what is in the best interests of every pupil.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To be a key player in driving improvement of attendance and punctuality at Byron Wood Primary Academy to be in line or above national expectations, by working within a team to implement successful strategies.
  • To implement and embed systems to support the Academy in raising attendance, investigating persistent absences and improving punctuality.
  • To fulfil administrative functions associated with the role.
  • To work with staff, pupils and their families to promote high levels of attendance and challenge any non-attendance.
  • To support with Reception duties such as dealing with visitors, phone calls, staff and pupil queries.
  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of academy pastoral policies and procedures, notably behaviour, attendance, punctuality and uniform
