Moorside High School is seeking to appoint a committed and proactive Attendance Support Officer to join our dedicated pastoral and safeguarding team. As part of the Consilium Academies Trust, we are passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive—and this role is vital to that mission.

About the Role

Working closely with the Safeguarding and Pastoral Team, the successful candidate will support our high expectations around attendance and help ensure every student is given the opportunity to succeed through excellent daily attendance.

Your work will include:

  • First-day calling and follow-up home visits to students who are absent.
  • Case recording and tracking of attendance interventions.
  • Supporting targeted intervention planning alongside the Attendance Officer.
  • Engaging with families and students to set, monitor and review attendance targets.
  • Assisting in safeguarding and pastoral referrals related to attendance concerns.
  • Providing first aid and acting as a key part of our safeguarding approach.

About You

You will be:

  • Passionate about supporting young people and improving their life chances.
  • Skilled in engaging with students, families, and colleagues with warmth, professionalism, and persistence.
  • Organised, detail-focused, and proactive in addressing barriers to attendance.
  • Able to work flexibly and independently, with a strong sense of accountability.

Experience working in a school or safeguarding/pastoral setting is desirable.
