About us
The Ferrars Academy is a very popular, successful and well resourced academy with a well established and supportive leadership team; rated Good by Ofsted, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence in education, for our infant and nursery children. We are located in Luton on the Luton/Dunstable border, close to the M1, A5 link roads and the L&D hospital. Our 3 form entry school has children who are well behaved and learn in a vibrant and friendly environment.
About the job
We are looking to appoint someone to work in our busy school office. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure; be well organised with excellent IT Skills and will need to have the ability to respond well to unexpected changes on a daily basis.
Duties are wide and varied and include: monitoring attendance and pupil absences, preparing reports, liaising with education and medical professionals, administering and co-ordinating first aid and medical arrangements/general welfare of the children, providing general administration and clerical assistance.
This is a permanent position, starting in September 2024.
Term time plus 5 INSET days and 3 additional days during school holidays.
Working hours: Monday 8:30am - 4:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (37 hours per week)
About you
A team player, you will have a good level of spoken and written English, be a confident communicator; providing front line representation of the Academy both face to face and by answering calls and taking enquiries. You will need to be able to deal politely and tactfully with a wide range of people and have sound verbal reasoning skills. You will need to have an excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy at all times. You will be proficient with the use of email and Microsoft Windows packages and be willing to learn internal processes and administrative online systems; you will need to be comfortable juggling many different requests and show a keen interest in playing a full part in the life of our school community.
