Axminster Community Primary is located in the market town of Axminster in East Devon, close to the Blackdown Hills and the Jurassic Coast. The school has close transport links with the A35. Axminster Primary is an inclusive and nurturing community primary school for children aged 2-11. We offer a high-quality, engaging curriculum enhanced by a range of stimulating and enriching experiences.
We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and caring teaching assistants who are able to work 1:1 with individual children as well as with small groups of children who have complex educational needs and present with challenging behaviour.
The successful candidate with be able to:
- promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional well-being
- liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
- demonstrate a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion.
Experience of working with SEND children and children with behavioural difficulties would be advantageous .
There is an element of Mealtime Assistant within this role where you will be required to support the pupils at lunchtime.

This role is fixed term until 31st August 2025.
