Overview of PFMAC

The Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Company (PFMAC) is a family of Catholic schools in Oxfordshire, who work together to promote the teaching of the Catholic faith.

PFMAC comprises nine Catholic primary schools and two Catholic secondary schools and is an integral part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham ensuring that the Church’s educative mission is fulfilled.

We believe each person is a unique creation made in the image of and likeness of God, called by name, with a special vocation and gifts to bring to the world. We seek to develop these talents in each individual by being a beacon for Catholic education in Oxfordshire. • Develop and implement strategies to reduce exclusions and improve attendance.

Oversee Interventions and Alternative Provision:

  • Oversee the placement of interventions and alternative provision, ensuring that provision is appropriate, well-monitored, and aligned with individual student needs.

  • Manage the budget for Alternative Provision to ensure resources are allocated effectively and deliver value for money in supporting student progress and well-being, working in collaboration with the local authority.

  • Liaise with external providers to ensure high standards of interventions and alternative provision, effective communication, and positive student outcomes.

  • Tracking and evaluating the impact of interventions, using data and feedback to improve provision and inform future decisions.

Parental and Community Engagement:

  • Liaise with families to ensure they are fully informed of behaviour.

  • Work with families to support positive behaviour and attendance.

  • Develop strong links with external agencies and community partners to enhance the school’s inclusion and behaviour support offer.

Staff Development:

  • Provide CPD to staff on behaviour management and inclusive teaching practices.

  • Support staff in implementing effective classroom management strategies.

  • Act as a source of expertise and guidance for staff on managing complex behaviour and inclusion issues.

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure that all safeguarding protocols are followed in relation to behaviour and inclusion.

  • Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure that vulnerable students are identified and supported.
