Behaviour for Learning Support job summary

The Behaviour for Learning Support role requires a resilient and organised colleague who can model expectations, develop excellent relationships with students and who can help students be reflective on their actions and who can promote positive behaviour.

The role is based on 35 hours per week, working over 39 weeks per year (school term time working plus 1 week).

You will liaise with teaching staff, the pastoral team, members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and work closely with the Assistant Principal (Behaviour) to enable students to regulate and work productively supporting the academy behaviour policy to allow ‘disruption free’ learning to take place across Ormiston Sudbury Academy. You will work with students in the classroom to support behaviour management and support SLT with the ‘call out’ rota. This is a varied and interesting role where no two days are the same!

At Ormiston Sudbury Academy, we are passionate about the education, care and development of young people. First and foremost, we support and challenge our students to find and fulfil their academic potential. We want every student to leave with the best set of qualifications they can attain. Pastoral care is a great strength of the school and the values of kindness and respect that staff model are instilled in the students. Our academy is a caring environment in which students and staff make use of high quality learning opportunities to develop their maximum academic, moral, social and spiritual potential. We are committed to developing equality of opportunity for all. We seek to continually improve and to work not simply harder but more effectively, as individuals and with others.

Our new colleague will also benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies. The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential. OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.

If you want to work with a great team of staff and students, and feel that you have the right skills, please apply before the closing date of 13th September 2024. Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should a suitable candidate be found.
