Salary: Band B Point 7-12
(£19,416.47 - £21,030.55 per annum)
32 hours and 30 minutes per week - Monday – Friday
8:40am – 3:40pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break
38 weeks of the year – term time plus INSET days

A new opportunity has arisen, for a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to join our successful team supporting students, to assist student learning and improve educational outcomes. Thameside Primary School are looking for an Inspiring and enthusiastic individual who is highly motivated, creative, fun and keen to progress their career.
The Bridge is our in-school behaviour area where children are supported to regulate their emotions, discuss any issues they may be having inside and outside of school, take timeout or complete work in as and when needed. Staff in The Bridge are called to classrooms, around the school and the playground to support all aged children with managing their behaviour. Staff take a trauma informed approach and use the Zones of Regulation/PACE/WIN to support our children.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting learners to improve educational outcomes. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
This position will involve:
- Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities
- Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
- Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
- Providing additional support to the teachers in the classrooms, around the school and the school playground
- Developing positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered
The successful candidate will:

- Have GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4-9 or equivalent
